There is no entry fee.  However, Finalists for Miss Tulare County are
requested to raise a minimum sponsorship fee of $300, in addition to $100
required  for
Children’s Miracle Network contribution. For that local
sponsorship fee, the sponsor will receive a free full-page ad in our program
book. A local sponsorship can come from a single business or organization,
multiple businesses who split up the ad page, or groups of family and
friends. The funds we raise from sponsorships will go toward the local
scholarships we award, as well as provide funds to prepare our titleholder's.

Finalists will solicit sponsorships and each contestant competes for
scholarship dollars by participating in five segments of competition.

The Judging System:

Judging in each segment is based on the Olympic scoring system.  Each
contestant receives a score from a low of 1 to a high of 10, with the highest
and lowest scores being discarded.  Scores from all segments are then
accumulated for each contestant, and the highest total score determines the
titleholder.  On the local level, the various segments account for the
following percentages of a contestant's total score:

(1)    Presentation and Community Service in Interview = 25%
(2)    Artistic Expression in Talent (90 seconds) = 35%
(3)    Lifestyle and Fitness in Swim wear = 15%
(4)    Presence and Poise in Evening Wear = 20%
(5)    On Stage Question = 5%
